Introduction
Sheynnis Palacios is a Nicaraguan Model, born on May 30, 2020, who was crowned Miss Universe 2023. She is the first Nicaraguan woman to win the Miss Universe title. She is a mental health activist and an audiovisual producer.
Sheynnis Palacios Early Life
Sheynnis Palacios was born at Hospital Aleman Nicarguenese in Managua. She grew up in the town of Diriamba. She was educated in Managua, where she won the Miss Lasalista beauty pageant. Later, Palacios studied at the Central American University in Managua, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Mass communication in 2022. Before, Palacios suffered from anxiety attacks, which later inspired her to become a mental health awareness activist.
Family Background
Sheynnis Palacios is a proud member of a supportive and loving family. Her parents have been instrumental in her success. Her social media shows a close relationship with her mother, Raquel Cornejo. Her mother mainly has been a constant support throughout her journey.
Palacios Career
Before becoming Miss Universe, Palacios was working as a model, television presenter, and journalist in Nicaragua. She was first crowned Miss Teen Nicaragua 2016. Later, she participated in Teen Universe 2017 where she placed in the top 6.
She was crowned Miss World Nicaragua 2020. Palacios represented Nicaragua in Miss World 2021, which was scheduled to be held in San Juan Puerto on December 16, 2021, but was postponed because of several cases of Covid-19 reported among contestants and staff. The pageant was later rescheduled for March 16, 2022, but Palacios did not advance further.
In August 2023, Palacios was crowned as the Miss Nicaragua 2023 and got the opportunity to represent her country in Miss Universe 2023 and won the title.
Miss Universe Crown 2023
Miss Universe is an annual International major beauty pageant that the United States and Thailand-based Miss Universe organizations run. The Pageant was a dazzling spectacle of beauty, intelligence, and cultural diversity. A total of 84 contestants from around the world competed for the crown.
Sheynnis Palacios said “Nicaragua, I feel you in my heartbeat, the sound of your marimba runs through my veins. “She wrote on Instagram before the competition. “I will show what Nicarguans are made of Valor, courage, and determination.
R’Bonney Gabriel of the United States crowned Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua as the winner of the Miss Universe 2023 and Antonia Porsild was the first runner-up from Thailand that was held on November 18, 2023 at the Jose Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador.
Palacios Controversy
Palacios had attended a mass anti-government protest in 2018-2022 against the President of Nicaragua, which led to controversy after she won the title of Miss Universe 2023 as few sections of people were opposing, but Palacios’s victory was celebrated by more people including the opposition members.
Conclusion
Palacios’s goal in life is to work in the service of humanity by running a newsroom and producing content and commercials for International brands. In her spare time, she rescues cats and dogs. She usually prefers to be behind the camera but she comes out of the wings because she believes in finding solutions for as many of the world’s problems as she can.
